Kiwiana day!!

Today was kiwiana day!

We have had a great day full of dress ups, shared lunch and we even had a great time in the pool with Team Pukeko.

There was some awesome kiwiana food such as Cheerios, sausage rolls, pavlova, chips and dip,bacon and egg pie etc. Lots of good 'kiwi tucker'.

We based our piece of art on Reuben's (New Zealand artist) kowhaiwhai art. the korus inside of our work represent our family.

What is the most popular coloured car?

Today we were investigating what is the most popular colour car that goes past Edendale School in fifteen minutes.

The policeman stopped by who was watching for speeding cars and asked where our hats were, oops!! He spoke to us trough the cars speaker, we think he thought we were pretty strange sitting outside the school fence!

Once we found out all of our information using a tally chart, we came back in and had a go at putting our information into a bar graph. We found out that silver was the most popular colour car and that 54 cars went past us in that time.

Math challenge

For our math warm up today we played 'game of arrays'. We had to roll two dice and make the multiplication array, the winner was the person who had the most boxes coloured.

Tour of Southland

Today we were lucky enough to see the Tour of Southland riders go past us, they were zooming along pretty fast!

The school was chanting for Brennan as he drove past and we clapped and cheered for all the riders as they were going past. We saw heaps of TV crews filiming,could we be famous!?
