Hansel and Gretel maps

Last week we read Hansel and Gretel. We decided if they had a map it would have been much easier for them to find their way back from the witches cottage!
After we had read the book we had to create a map of the forest and write some directions of how to get from the cottage to the witches house using North, South, East and West.
once we had finished them off we had a go at trying to read each other's directions!

Firewise

Today Mr Sheppard and Mr Dickson came to visit our class to talk to us about being FireWise.
We had to assess some rooms, decide what problems were in them and then we had our own practice of getting down, getting low and getting out of the classroom.

Shoe sculptures

Yesterday we created some shoe sculptures. We used large celloptape to go around the shoes ,working in pairs to make sure we wound the celloptape round correctly. They were heaps of fun to make but we found it a bit tricky to cut the shoes out of the moulds.
