Te Reo Maori

Today we were lucky enough to have our first session with Bex on Te Reo Maori.

Our lesson started off and finished  with a karakia.

We learnt how to ask - what is your name? Ko wai Toku ingoa?
And how to reply - ko......... Toku ingoa.

We made some badges to keep around our neck, to help us remember what we had learnt.

What is the chance!

Today for maths we had a game of horse races.

We rolled two dice together and moved the horse that was the answer, for example if we rolled a six and one , the number five horse got to move a place.

We found out that the chance of rolling a 5,0 or 4 was lower than rolling a 1,2 or 3 as there are more options when rolling the dice to get those numbers.

We came to the conclusion that the game was fair!

Probability

This week in maths we have been looking at probability. Today we have been discovering if paper, scissors, rock is a fair or unfair game? What would happen if we were to add two more hand signs to the game, is it still fair?
