Week Two Term Four

This week we had fun on a 'mini beast' hunt around the school looking for all the different mini beasts.  Then we came back and sorted them into their correct categories or groups they belong to.

We were on Celebration Time this week and shared our reflection art.  These are on the children's individual blogs for you to see.
Harm was our writer of the week.  He had his description about his cousin Josh read by Mr McKenzie.

Libby was our MVP for demonstrating our value of Persistence

Week One Term Four

Welcome back everyone to term four!
This week went really fast but we covered a lot of new learning.
For maths we are focusing on Transformations and this week we have looked at reflection, the line of symmetry and rotation.  We reflected our names.  Here are a few of them for you to see.

We are excited to be able to visit the Library again on Wednesdays and get a chapter book out to read at home.
Our inquiry this term is all about mini beasts and why they are important to our world.  This week we looked at the different categories of mini beasts and had to put some mini beasts into our own categories.

As we learn new knowledge about mini beasts we will eventually know the different types and categories they belong to.

Week Seven Term Three

Wow!  What an awesome week we have had in Team Tui.
On Tuesday we had some exciting news from Amber Carnie that she had won the Southland Machinery Colouring Competition that we all entered.

Also we have been busy using our research skills to find out about a sea creature so we can then write a report about it.  So for writing we have been looking at examples of reports and creating a success criteria of what a good report should have.  These will be published over the next two weeks for others to read.
Today (Friday) we had some AMAZING cupcake decorations brought to school.  Dylan Adams was the winner in Team Tui, but they were all awesome and the student council had a tough time deciding.

Some children in Team Tui have also achieved one of their goals for this year.  An awesome effort!!!

Week Four Term Three

Everyone is busy working together for our inquiry to meet a need they have identified in our school community.  Some groups are designing a scooter area, some are designing a scooter holder and shed, some have identified the need for umbrellas for the picnic tables and others have found a need for just a rugby field.  It is very exciting to see everyone working so well together to try and meet the needs they have identified.

Week Three Term Three

Wow, what a busy week we had this week.  On Wednesday we were lucky enough to travel down to Menzies College and watch their production 'The Pirate Queen' in the morning.  Then in the afternoon we had a Music Festival practice with all the LMV schools.  We are sounding amazing, and are all excited to perform on the 29th August.
On Thursday the Year 3 children along with Room Pukeko, Kiwi and Kea, went ice skating and swimming in Gore.
Here are some swimming photos from this trip.
